At the start of the school year you were notified of several changes that were going to take place at Burlington City High School. I am happy to report that all changes were very receptive by students and parents. I would like to thank you for all your support. The most significant change being the closed lunch. With our new food service provider, Nutri-Serve Food Management, the closed lunch program is proceeding nicely. The air-conditioned Cafeteria and our “Senior Lounge” is a most welcome addition. The other significant change included a new student identification program. Students were provided with and required to wear identification tags during the time they are in the school building. All school personnel along with the students are wearing their identification tags. The closed lunch program and the student/staff identification tags contribute to a safe and orderly school environment.

The construction of the new wing to the high school “A Wing” is now complete. The completion of the wing has provided the high school with added space that includes twelve new classrooms, a state of the art media center, two modern science laboratories, and office space for members of the district’s Child Study Team and Technology support personnel.

I sincerely appreciate the efforts of all of our parents and guardians. Your continued help and support contributes to a successful school year. I encourage you to maintain an open line of communication with your students. Please monitor your child’s progress during the school year. The high school/junior school staff welcomes opportunities to assist you with any and all matters pertinent to your student’s intellectual and social development.
